Handover checklist

What protects you, ticked off in writing

Building work is covered by guarantees set by law. Here is what each one covers, and when it starts.

Checklist · your guarantees

Ten-year insurance

For ten years after handover, it covers any damage that threatens the solidity of the work. The certificate comes with the quote.

One-year completion guarantee

For a year after handover, any defect you report is put right.

A written, detailed quote

Every stage priced, the VAT rate explained, a start date and a duration.

Handover in writing

We walk the site together and sign the handover report: that is the day your guarantees start.

Your part:For an extension or structural work, the law also asks YOU, as the owner, to take out building damage insurance (dommages-ouvrage) before the site opens. We give your insurer the documents it asks for.

From the first visit to the handover

The four milestones of a job

You never have to chase us: at each milestone, we are the ones who call.

Milestone 1

Site visit and measurements

We come and see the site, take measurements and check the rules that apply: planning, co-ownership, access for the lorry.

Milestone 2

Written quote

A detailed quote within a week, insurance certificate attached. Nothing starts until you have signed.

Milestone 3

The works

A start date kept, a site tidied every evening, and a phone call if anything changes.

Milestone 4

Handover

We check everything together and sign the handover report. Your guarantees start that day.

Customers' notes

What our customers say

"We wanted to open the kitchen onto the living room. He came with the engineer's calculation for the beam, propped everything, and the dust stayed behind the plastic sheeting. Four days, as announced."

Claire M.

Load-bearing wall, Nantes

"For our 25 m² extension, he told us straight away that a prior declaration was enough and helped us fill it in. The quote did not move by a single euro."

Julien and Sarah D.

Extension, Rezé

"The old stone wall along the road was leaning. He rebuilt it with lime mortar, like the original, and three neighbours asked for his number."
